WITH A DIVERSE MIX OF
CULTURES AND NEIGHBORHOODS — FROM THE ICONIC HARBOR AND OPERA HOUSE, TO THE SURF SCENE AT BONDI BEACH — THE DIFFERENT STYLES IN SYDNEY ARE ENDLESS.
We went down under and met up with Garreth Lenagh, KMS Global Style Council member, editorial stylist, and Creative Director at Prema Salon in Bondi Beach, to get the inside scoop on Sydney style.
Tell us a little about Sydney – what’s style like there?
Sydney has a continuous flow of effortless style, with each individual representing themselves in a unique way.
With beach towns and inner city hubs the style can change dramatically from wetsuits and surfers to ripped denim and Doc Martens! Hair here covers every spectrum from long blondes to short colorful crops.
Where do you find inspiration in Sydney?
Living at Bondi Beach, I am constantly inspired every time I step out of the house. Nature and the fresh sea breeze is revitalizing and lets me think clearly about the next cut, style or campaign that I’m creating; I love hanging out by the ocean.
In contrast, I also love the inner city of Sydney! There’s so much diversity there, and with a huge multicultural population, you see styles from all over the world in the city. Street style here is so amazing and definitely inspiring.
What designers are you working with for Fashion Week?

Royalty, punk, high tea and High Street all merge together, creating a unique style that is truly London. Walking the streets of London, you feel like the style you see could never work in any other city. Even though nothing is off-limits, the style still feels though-through and perfectly fitting to the person who’s wearing it.
